Good Foods Market & Cafe: Lexington, KY - http://www.goodfoods.coop

Updated: 2012-08-23

Good Foods Market & Café is a locally owned and operated cooperative business where everyone is welcome! Good Foods has been serving our community since 1972. With a modest start as a buying club in a garage, we now claim a vibrant 20,000 square foot Market and Café. In 2002, we expanded our location by adding a 2,825 square foot Café. Again in 2004 we expanded by opening a satellite café, Good Foods Chapter 2, in the downtown Lexington Public Library. Our most recent expansion in 2009 was completed on time and under budget as we celebrated with a Grand Reopening in February 2010. The renovated store features an artisan bakery, more produce, expanded grocery selections, and a beautifully renovated Café with larger bathrooms. Good Foods is a dynamic cooperative today because of our dedication to serve our growing and changing ownership. We invite you to walk into our Market & Café and be greeted by a bountiful selection of fresh, crisp produce. We are proud to support numerous Kentucky producers and farmers. From posters throughout our Market you can see who is growing your food. Our focus is on natural, organic, and whole foods. In our Market, we offer a variety of fresh fish and natural meats, supplements, housewares, bath and body care, and pet supplies. Our Cafés offer numerous homemade options. On Southland Dr. that includes a salad bar, a lunch and dinner hot buffet, gourmet sandwiches, fresh sushi, and an espresso, juice, and fruit smoothie bar. Good Foods Chapter 2 offers many of our sandwich, coffee, smoothie, and sushi selections for the downtown crowd. We are active within our community, attending health fairs, offering Nutrition Missions to organizations, and participating in fairs and expos. We support local organizations through our Give Where You Live Partner program, where we donate 10˘ per transaction with reusable bag(s) to a local organization. Additionally, we match 25% of shopper donations at month’s end and help educate the community about our Give Where You Live Partner.
